A silent auction will also be held. Proceeds from this year’s show will benefit Bridles and Grooms 4-H Horse Club and REASON (Retired Equine Adoption Society of the North- east), a non-profit equine adop- tion organization dedicated to providing the first step to a new beginning for unwanted or res- cued horses and ponies in need of caring homes. Spectators are welcome at no charge. Coffee is free all day at the 4-H refreshment stand where home-cooked food will also be available for purchase. The Dallas Horse and Pony Show is a popular tradition on Mother’s Day with exhibitors from Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey competing for cash awards, ribbons, trophies, prizes and year-end points. A member event of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Horsemen’s Association, the Dallas Horse and Pony Show is an open horse show and exhib- itors do not need to be mem- bers to participate.
