The students, in grades six through 12, chose historical topics related to a theme and conducted extensive primary and sec- ondary research through libraries, ar- chives, museums, oral history interviews and historic sites. Students then presented their work in original papers, Web sites, ex- hibits, performances and documentaries. Several students from the Dallas and Lake-Lehman school districts placed in the top three in different categories. The top three finishers from each region advance to fhe Pennsylvania state competition. Win- Jers at the state level will then compete in National History Day at the University of Maryland in June.
