Premiere level training from a professional and licensed coaching staff is offered with a strong emphasis on individual player development. Soccer booster club plans craft show The Dallas Boys Soccer Booster Club will hold its SPOrts Spring Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, March 29, at the Dallas Senior High School. Over 100 vendors from PA, NY and NJ will sell hand-craft- ed items such as jewelry, wood- en items, candles, Easter and spring decorations, doll clothes and homemade candy and fudge. A winning season The Wyoming Valley Bombers captured the ECTB13+U March Mayhem Championship recent- ly with a 16-4 victory over the Montgomery County Force at Hunsicker Bicentennial Stadium in Allentown. After qualifying for the championship round, the Bombers defeated the West Jersey Sliders and South Jersey Young Guns to advance to the championship game. With the victory, the team qualifies for the ECTB World Classic Championship in Nicholasville, Kentucky in July. The team is comprised of players from the Dallas, Pittston Area and Wyoming Valley West School Districts as well as Wyoming Seminary. Local JA.K.E.S. event set for April 19 Arris Engineering capped another winning season by handily defeating Bendick Law Firm, 24-16, in the fifth/ sixth-grade girls division of the Dallas Youth Basketball League. Talia Szatkowski scored a game-high 16 points to lead Arris to victory. Lauren Dotter scored four points while Ally Rome and Nicole Wren each added two points. Bendick Law’s Mallory Faux scored six points while Abby Bendick and Emily Za- watski each added four points. In a semi-final DYB fifth/ sixth-grade girls game, Arris Engineering defeated Riders World, 32-26. Talia Szatkowski scored a game-high 27 points, taking Arris Engineering to the championship game. Lauren Dotter and Ally Rome also scored for Arris. (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge Ethics and Sports- manship) event on Sunday, April 19, at Moon Lake Park. For a fee of $10, children can join a day of outdoor activities, including classes taught by qual- ified volunteers and broken into groups by age with an adult chaperone. Some of the classes include turkey calling, archery, outdoor cooking, b.b. guns (12 and un- der) and shot gun and clay birds (12 and over). The $10 fee includes all class- es, supplies, lunch goody bag and a one-year membership to JAKES magazine. The local event has won a Na- tional Award for Best JAKES event, hosting up to 250 partici- pants for the last three years.
