ROSS STUDENTS DONATE TO CHARITY Ross Elementary students recently collected 410 new items for the school’s annual “Holiday Hugs" charity drive. HEALTHLEADERS timesleader com Trumbower is reappointed to Conservation District position The Luzerne County Commis- sioners reappointed Bruce Trumbower of Hunlock Creek and Joseph Boiwka of Fairmount Township to the Luzerne Con- servation District Board of Di- rectors with terms running from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2012. Trumbower has served as pub- lic director on the board since 2006 and Boiwka has served as a farmer director since 2003. Commissioners also appoint- ed Stephen Urban as the Com- missioner Director on the board. Urban has served as a Director or Associate Director on the Board since 2004. The Board of Directors con- sists of nine members, all ap- pointed by the county commis- sioners, and three associate members, appointed by the board. Magistrate James Tupper swore in the newly-appointed and reappointed directors at the conservation district’s January 8 meeting. Also during the meeting, the board elected Timothy Ference of Conyngham as Chairman of the Board. Stephen A. Urban of Wilkes-Barre was elected as vice- chairman and Timothy Connolly of Kingston was elected as secre- tary/treasurer of the Board. The Luzerne Conservation District is a local agency with re- sponsibilities in the conservation of soil, water and related re- sources within Luzerne County.
