Brutko, who currently resides in Lebanon, is a district manager for Verizon Wireless. He and his wife, the former Kelly Lapinski, have two children, Emily Re- agan, 6, and Zachary Taylor, 4. A 1990 graduate of Dallas High School, Brutko has come to view the two years he spent as a counselor at the Dallas Rec Center as very special years, having met one of his closest friends, Chris Hardik, there. He admits that, since his chil- dren were born, he has spent a lot of time looking back at his own life. “Kelly and I have been very fortunate over the 10 years we've been married,” said Brutko, son of Jean Brutko, of Dallas. “Veri- zon Wireless has been better to me than I deserve and Kelly is able to work three days a week as a physical therapist which al- lows both of us plenty of quality time with our children. “We have made a very con- scious effort towards teaching Barry Brutko, second from right, a former Dallas Borough Rec- reation counselor, recently made a donation to the borough's recreation program which allowed for the purchase of two new soccer goals and other items. Proceeds from the first one, all of $20, went to the Ronald McDonald House of Hershey. Her second sale resulted in a profit of $6.75 and she made the decision on her own to donate the money to the family’s church. “The people of Dallas Bor- ough are very fortunate to have a place like the Rec Center,” Brut- ko said. “It’s a place that allows kids to be kids.
