Mercy sister finishes book Sister Anne Francis Pulling, of Dallas, has finished her 12th pictorial book titled, “Dallas, Pennsylvania.” A native of Central Islip Long Island, N.Y., Pulling is a gradu- ate of College Misericordia, now Misericordia University, and Fordham University. The retired Sister of Mercy is a for- mer Catholic elementary school teacher. She resides at the Mercy Center in Dallas. She was the cap- tain of the girls cross country team last fall and was fourth in the state for diving in the 2008 season. “I kind of felt obligated, but I - didn’t mind doing it,” Mariel said. “My whole family was in- volved and it keeps me in shape.” Griffin organized the “Run for the Fallen” last August at Penn State Wilkes-Barre to fulfill his senior completion project re- quirements. Mariel and Nell both ran the race. “It was a lot of work,” Griffin said. “They’re going to do it again for juniors next year so if they need help, I'll help them.” A freshman, Jess won district championships for the boys cross country team in the fall, then par- girls. She just re- turned home after 18 months of missionary work in Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Marjorie believes all of her chil- dren are above-average runners who have encouraged many of their friends to join the cross country and track teams and in- sists she never forced any of them to run. “I never did push them to go out for the team,” she said. “It was their decision.
