Sunday, December 14, 2008 THE DALLAS POST BMT Catholic Youth Council adds members Forty members of the Back Mountain Catholic Youth Coun- cil were commissioned in their role as peer ministers on Satur- day, Nov. 15, during Mass at Saint Therese’s Church, Shavertown. Rev. James J. Paisley celebrated the Mass. The youth council includes young representatives from the five Back Mountain Catholic Churches: Gate of Heaven, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Our Lady of Victory, St. Frances X. Cabrini and St. Therese’s Church. The se- nior high council includes youths in ninth through 12th grades. The junior high council includes youth in sixth through eighth grades. The mission of the council is to encourage, nurture and affirm the faith formation of the Back Mountain Catholic Youth. The council seeks to do this by plan- ning and providing unified social, service and faith formation op- portunities in an environment conducive to friendship, respect and acceptance. Art works on display included impres- sionistic and realistic works in all fine art drawings and painting media. Render- ings, abstractions and various design compositions were also exhibited by stu- dents ranging in age from 5 to 85.
