Student-teacher assignments made Misericordia University teacher education majors recently received their fall student teaching assignments during an orientation pro- gram in the Kennedy Room of the Banks Student Life Cen- ter. Nine student teachers from Misericordia University and two from King’s College par- ticipated in the program, ) which prepares the under- graduates for classroom ob- servation and instruction in several regional school dis- tricts, including the Diocese of Seranton. The Teacher Education Department at Misericordia University requires student teachers to observe student instruction for 14 weeks in two different classrooms as part of their educational and professional experience. Stu- dents spend the school day in their assigned classrooms, at first observing and then grad- ually teaching classes. The band won the best woodwinds category and tied for best visual with Biglers- ville at the Tournament of Bands Atlantic Coast Championships at the J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown. First-place awards went to Governor Livingston from New Jersey with a 96.25 while Lake-Lehman finished sec- ond at 96.10 and Biglersville came in third at 95.80 There were over 28 bands from nine states, including Ohio, Pennsyl- vania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Delaware and North Carolina, competing for the title.
