1 ! i : i from scrimmage 60 yards to pay- Sunday, November 16, 2008 Tue DALLAS POST PAGE 11 SPOrts ~ Dallas Jr. Mounts A ' team is absolutely ‘super’ - The Dallas A Team defeated the Ply- mouth Shawnee Indians, 32-12, last Sun- day at Wyoming Valley West Stadium to win the Super Bowl championship. In the first quarter, Jr. Mount Aaron Napkora recovered a Plymouth fumble to give Dallas the ball on the Plymouth 31-yard line. A few plays later, Zack Ma- cosky connected with Jason Siminovich to give Dallas its first touchdown. On the 2-point conversion, Dallas QB Siminov- ich rolled to his left and hit Mark Michno in the end zone. Dallas was quickly ahead, 8-0. In the second quarter, Dallas running back Macosky broke free and scampered the length of the field for a 70-yard touch- down. The 2-point conversion failed. Plymouth got on the board as Lucky Wil- liams dodged the Dallas defenders to get into the end zone from 33 yards out. Late in the second quarter, Plymouth had an- other chance to get some points, but the Dallas defense prevailed. The half ended with Dallas ahead, 14-6. The second half was more of the Dal- las offensive machine, as well as great defense. In the third quarter, Eric Zawat- ski hit Siminovich for a 35-yard pass to put the ball on the Plymouth 10-yard line. On the next play, Siminovich rolled right on a QB keeper to give Dallas an- other six points. Siminovich helped him- self as well as his team as he intercepted a Plymouth pass and returned it 40 yards to give Dallas the ball on the 15-yard line. Macosky had two powerful rushes and, on the second, put the ball into the end zone. At the end of the third quarter, Dal- las was ahead, 26-6. The fourth quarter was more of the same as Dallas QB Siminovich hit Za- watski on a long TD reception. Ply- mouth, however, was determined to get some more points on the board. On the next set of plays, Plymouth’s Williams broke free for an impressive run, ending in the end zone and putting the score at 32-12 with Dallas leading. With time run- ning out, Plymouth’s hopes of getting a few more points were ended as Mark Michno intercepted a Plymouth pass. Jr. Mounts D team defeats Kingston Township to grab Super owl win The Dallas Jr. Mounts D team completed its undefeated season last Sunday, beating the Kingston Township Raiders, 26-8, to become the 2008 Super Bowl Champs! Todd Phillips took the first play dirt, setting the tone of the game early. The Raiders hung tough in the first half as Dallas went into the locker room with a 12-8 lead. Dallas took control in the second half and had multiple long-sustain- ing drives. The Dallas defense was stellar, giving up one long play for a touchdown. Outside of that, the Raiders were never allowed past the Dallas’ 40-yard line as the Jr. Mounts defense gave up just one first down the entire game.
