Congratulations! joe Devizia » COMMUNITY ACTIVIST » FATHER OF THREE » WILKES-BARRE RESIDENT » CHURCH DEACON As Executive Director of the Luzerne County Office of Human Services, Joe Devizia oversees a variety of programs that offer therapy and assistance to the community. For many years he has been doing wonderful work, quietly, for children. That includes spending his evenings visiting sick children in local hospitals. Joe has a very special place in his heart for children with autism. It began 15 years ago when he met a toddler named Alex who was in need of restorative therapy. He made sure Alex got the assistance he needed. Over the vears, he has witnessed what he calls an explosion of children diagnosed with autism. That led him to champion the cause, bringing experts and programs into the community that would help open the world to these children. It is especially important, Joe says, to put opportunities into place that help autistic youngsters as they enter young adulthood and become employed. “Every single person has ; potential to develop, and it takes a team to make this happen. 4 [ We just need to provide the right services.” " PRESENTED BY THE LAW OFFICES OF | Visit GreatHumanitarians.com 90640
