The church’s mission group has returned safely from its mis- sions trip to Mexico where partic- ipants assisted in a Vacation Bi- ble School, went door to door in- ~ viting children, painted the church building inside and out and assisted in the Sunday and Thursday evening church servic- es. The local church group sang in Spanish, gave testimonies and Pastor Wandel preached. The hurricane that hit parts of Texas was no hindrance to the group as church members stayed in Mexico. By their return to Mis- sion, TX the sun was shining'and power had been restored.: = The group will present a spe- cial service on Sunday, Aug. 10, to report on its trip with pictures and testimonies from team mem- bers. CEF Camp (Child Evangelism Fellowship of NEPA) for students in grades one to three started on July 28 and ran through Friday, Aug. 1. Pastor Wandel’s oldest son, Da- vid, left-on July 28 for Fort Indi- antown Gap to begin his basic training for the Army National Guard. He spent the week at Fort Indiantown Gap before shipping out to Fort Leonard Wood in Mis- souri on August 1. He will be at basic training until October and remain there to complete AIT and return to PA in December. His current plans are to finish basic and AIT in time to start col- lege at Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC in January 2009, Vacation Bible School will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, through Thursday, Aug. 7, witha closing programiset fc to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8.
