This four-week program will feature jokes, crafts, activities and strange-but-true bug facts! The featured read-along story will be “Andrew Lost in the Garden” by J.C. Greenburg. Participants will meet in the back of the Children’s Room from 10 to 11 a.m. on these Mon- days: July 14, 21 and 28. Partici- pants are asked to provide their own books for the program. The concert, which will be held rain or shine, is free and open to the public. ‘Catch the Etiquette Bug’ at library “Catch the Etiquette Bug” y with Mrs. Jill Kryston and learn < table manners, social etiquette and communication skills in association with “Defining Man- ners: A School of Contemporary Protocol.” The class will be held at the Back Mountain Memorial Li- brary from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tues- day, July 15, in the Children’s Room in conjunction with “Catch the Reading Bug” sum- mer reading program. Susquehanna canoe trip set for July 19 The North Branch Land Trust will hold its 8th Annual River Trip on Saturday, July 19. The tripis a 10-mile trip in a kayak or a canoe on the North Branch of the Sus- quehanna River from Tunkhan- nock to West Falls. For those participants wishing to leave their cars at the end point, there will be a shuttle up river to Tunkhannock. The group will leave at 9:15 a.m. from the PA Fish & Boat Commission Access Area in West Falls. Participants can meet the group at 9 a.m. at Tunk- hannock Riverside Park for a 10 a.m. launch. A sunny day is expected for this 10-mile leisure paddle. Participa- nts should bring dry clothes, bi- noculars (eagles are common), proper footwear for water, and plenty of drinking water with a lunch as the group will stop at La- Grange Island for a lunch break. At the island, there will be an up- date on the Land Trust, the North Branch Susquehanna Water Trail and a talk on the nature of the riv- er. The group’s outfitters, David and Melody Buck, offer recre- ational and some touring kayaks which are stable and user friendly. Tandem kayaks and canoes are al- so available. The recreational kay- aks are $42, touring kayaks are $45 and tandem kayaks and ca- noes are $50 per day. Personal floatation devices (or PFDs for short) and paddles are included.
