He was a carpenter by trade and worked for various con- tractors, including the Bell Bend nuclear power plant, near Ber- wick. Born in Scranton on October 18, 1949, he was a graduate of Abington Heights High School, class of 1967. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1972 from East Stroudsburg University in mathematics, his master’s in school administration from the University of Scranton and did his post-graduate work from the University of Pennsylvania. His teaching career started in the Abington Heights School District as a math teacher, before he moved to East Pennsboro School District as an assistant principal for five years. He was then a principal in Blue Ridge School District and assistant su- perintendent at the Tunkhan- nock School District until retir- ing in August of last year. Upon retirement, Frank and his wife took a house parent position at the Milton Hershey School. He coached basketball, wres- tling, track, football and was a track official for many different also enjoyed working for groups such as the American Red Cross, the Special Olympics and the li- brary, among other organiza- tions. (Ret.), of Dallas, died April 27, 2008 at Geisinger Wyoming Val- ley Medical Center. Born on April 4, 1932 in Wilkes- Barre, he was a member of the Wilkes-Barre City Police Depart- ment, being appointed in 1962, prior to retiring. He began his career as a patrol officer, and through civil service testing and education, he was ap- pointed to a juvenile and narcot- ics detective. He was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and then later to the rank of captain in charge of the special services in 1978. During his career, he complet- ed extensive training, receiving 58 certificates and diplomas in law enforcement, criminal jus- tice and narcotics training. He at- tended L.C.C.C., King’s College, Wilkes University, Northwestern University in Chicago, the Dept. of Education in Harrisburg, the ter, the International Crime Pre- vention Institute of Louisville, Ky., and the Philadelphia Police Department. a) Capt. Police Chiefs Assoc. He served as secretary of the Luzerne County Police Chiefs Association, was a mem- ber of the Fraternal Order of Po- lice 36 and a past member of the Northeast Pennsylvania Police Officer Training Assocition. He also served as president of the Wilkes-Barre Federal Credit Union. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Ko- rean Conflict, assigned to Batt- tery “A” 967th, which was located at Fort Sill, Okla., as a staff ser- geant in charge of communica- tions. He also served as an honor- ary pallbearer for the deceased from the 109th train wreck inci- dent.
