Art in the Barn juried show set for Hillside The Lands at Hillside Farms will combine art and agricul- ture with its “Art in the Barn” juried art show in their Mu- seum Barn on Hillside Road June 6-15. In celebration of 2008 as the Year of the Barn in Pennsylva- nia, The Lands at Hillside Farms welcomes artists in- terested in displaying their barn-themed works during this week. “Art in the Barn” hopes to present all styles of painting and sculptures; however, pho- tographs will not be part of this year’s show. The Lands requests that all work be original, for sale and completed within the past two years. Two-dimensional works should be wire-framed for hanging and no more than 48” wide or high and sculptures not exceed 48” in any direc- tion or 120 pounds in weight. The juror for “Art in the Barn” will be Pamela Birming- ham, the Robert L. McNeil Jr. Curator of Education at Wood- mere Art Museum, Philadel- phia. Prizes will range from $100 to $1,000 and will be awarded on Friday, June 6, at the open- ing reception. Works may be submitted from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 29, 30 and 31. “Art in the Barn” will require a $25 entry fee for the first work and $15 fee for a second work. These fees help cover the costs associated with hosting the show and for prizes. More information and a downloadable entry form for “Art in the Barn” can be found at www.thelandsathillside- farms.org. Interested people can also call The Lands at Hillside Farms at 696-4500 or e-mail Chris Tweedy at chris@the- landsathillsidefarms.org.
