Seminary students make holiday festive | & Thanksgiving was a more fes- tive holiday for several local fam- ilies, thanks to 15 Thanksgiving dinner baskets delivered to area homes by the Wyoming Semina- ry Student Government. The annual Thanksgiving bas- ket project, a tradition for more than 36 years at Sem, began with a fundraising letter sent to stu- dents, parents, faculty and staff. .. In addition, the student govern- ment solicited donations at the school’s Thanksgiving chapel. This year, nearly $3,000 was raised, funding dinners for 15 lo- cal families, with sufficient re- serve funds for an upcoming Christmas project. DALLAS YOUTH BASKETBALL Adam Niznik scored a game- high 19 points while Nico Deluca added four points to lead McCarthy Tire to a 25-24 win over Fieldhouse Sporting Goods in the third and fourth grade boys division of the Dallas Youth Basketball League. Anthony DeLuca added two points while Jacob Serafin led the defense for McCarthy Tire. Spencer Bowanko led the Field- house with eight points while Lee Eckert added six. Keith Gillette and Kyle Moskulak add- ed two points apiece. Eastern Penn 23 Burger King 21 Jack Tomko scored eight points while Chad Phillips added seven as Eastern Penn Supply Co. edged Burger King, 23-21. Nick Mathers and Justin Novitski played fine defense for Eastern Penn while Aaron Yurko led Burger King with 13 points. Mitch Kelly added two points while Jacob and Kyle Besecker played excellent defense. Metlife 26 Walgreen 12 Kyle Archer led all scorers with 16 points and Brendan Balara added six as Metlife Securities topped Walgreen Drug Stores, 26-12. Paul Smith and Mitchell Winters led the defense for Metlife while Connor Macarty led Walgreen with eight points. Andrew Ondish and J.D. Barnett added two points each while Andy Zeyher had several key steals. Gattuso Group 22 Quad Three Group 19 The Gattuso Group Accountants & Consultants defeated Quad Three Group, 22-19, to take over sole possession of first place. Game results were not supplied by either team. 5TH AND 6TH GRADE Banas Byron and Kim 29 Brace's Orchard 26 Banas Byron and Kim nipped Brace's Orchard, 29-26. Brian Banas carried the doctors, scoring 14 points and hauling down 13 rebounds. Omar Nijmeh played great defensive and scored six points. Brace's Orchard was led by the fantastic play of Chase Makow- ski who scored 14 points. Zack Connely tossed in six while Josh Evans chipped in four. Bishop Photo 42 Medico Industries 38 Bishop Photo nipped Medico Industries, 42-38. Kyle Razawich controlled the game, throwing in 26 points for the cameramen. Mike Pierce continued his sharp shooting, scoring 10 from the outside. Drew Harding and Decklan Cer- za controlled the boards. Medico was led by Chad Debona, scoring 14 and Mariano Medico with 12, Aaron Napkora played tough defense and hauled down 12 rebounds. Medico Industries 40 CVS Pharmacy 14 Medico Industries crushed CVS Pharmacy, 40-14. The unstoppable duo of Chad Debona and Mariano Medico was too much for the pharmacy boys. The pair threw in 14 apiece to cement the victory while Jake Archer controlled the boards, adding four. CVS was led by Blake Willams, scoring 10 and Russ Newell chip- ping in with four. CDI 42 Bishop Photo 41 CDI slipped by Bishop Photo, 42-41. CDI was led by Stephen Wempa, scoring 16 points. Michael Boland played well, adding 12 while Jory Bredzinski controlled the boards and scored six points. Kyle Razawich led the photomen with 20 points. Mike Pierce added six while Decklan Cerza and Drew Harding controlled the boards. SIXTH GRADE BOYS TOURNAMENT Chad DeBona scored a game- high 17 points and Kyle Razawich added 10 to lead the sixth grade boys tournament team over Lehman-Jackson, 37-30, in the Sunday Lehman League. Aaron Napkora scored six of his seven points in the fourth quar- ter while Nigel Stearns added two points and Matt Saba had one.
