In- stead of exchanging gifts with other students, they decided to give the money to a family to enable that family to buy gifts for their children. Holy Redeemer High School concert set for Dec. 18 Some seventh and eighth grade students from Gate of Heaven School will participate in a concert at Holy Redeemer High School. This is an in- strumental concert which will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18. Everyone is welcome to attend the concert and enjoy the holiday music being per- formed for the community. Little Sisters of the Poor All the students in pre-school GATE OF HEAVEN SCHOOL NEWS ALLISON BANKS/ WILLIAM FULTON to eighth grades collected par- ticular items and money for the Little Sisters of the Poor. The collection was a great success. The students collected a truck full of items and $289 for the Little Sisters. Christmas production The students in pre-k, kin- dergarten and first grades per- formed their annual Christmas Program at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 14. The Pre-K sang many Christmas songs onstage. The kindergarten presented “The ABC's of Christmas” in full costume. The first grade thoughtfully presented the Nativity. Everyone enjoyed the students and the program. The sacrament of Reconciliation All students in third grade through eighth grades were provided the opportunity to participate in the sacrament of Reconciliation to prepare their hearts for Christmas. Saints Liturgy The Gate of Heaven School Community will celebrate the Liturgy at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21. The celebrant will be Rev. James J. Paisley of St. Therese Church, Shavertown. Our juniors took 4-sight tests On Decem- ber 12, and 13, the Lake-Leh- man juniors took their 4- sight tests on December 12 ro 13. The 4 Sight testing took place electronically through a website. (http://www.success- forall.net ) The student selects the state in which the school is located and then takes the test from there. This testing is used to estimate how well students will perform on the PSSA test during the school year. Scholastic Scrimmage Four students from the Lake- Lehman High School recently completed in the WVIA Scholas- tic Scrimmage. The four stu- dents were Neil Deirolf, Mike Caffrey, Nicole Attanasio and Curtis Scharding- Taras. The 3 competition was a series of urd Dine ty ie LAKE-LEHMAN HIGH SCHOOL KAMI SAXE questions and answers against 29 other schools. The first round consisted of Hanover, Tunkhannock and Meyers. These schools answered ques- tions left and right. On November 5, Lake-Leh- man faced Scranton, the current champion for the Scholastic Scrimmage title. Scranton was tough, but Lake-Lehman won, 440-360. If you watch WVIA Sunday nights, you can watch Lake-Lehman compete in the Scholastic Scrimmage. The times vary, so be sure to check the website. The final submissions of all revised research papers are due on January 7. The research papers, works cited and a copy of the sources should be handed in to your English teacher.
