Leaf collection program begins Nov. 5 ® The Dallas Borough curbside yard waste collection and recy- cling program will conclude for the 2007 season effective Novem- ber 2. The Road Department had suspended collection of the green recycling containers dur- ing the annual paving program that concluded on Friday, Oct. 26, and will collect the yard waste containers for the final time this year no later than Friday, Nov. 2. The 2007 Dallas Borough Fall Leaf Collection Program will be- gin on Monday, Nov. 5. Collec- tion will continue throughout the entire month of November or un- til the first significant snow event of the winter season. The bor- ough asks that residents comply with the following leaf collection guidelines: Leaves only (no grass clippings or other yard waste) should be raked to the curbside for vacuum collection. The vacuum equip- ment will not function properly if residents commingle yard waste with the leaves. : Residents are asked to please rake all leaves to the curbside in long thin rows approximately three feet wide. Placing the leav- es curbside in this manner will fa- cilitate collection. Residents are cautioned not to place any items within the road right of way that may create potentially hazardous or unsafe conditions. Residents who prefer to collect leaves and place them in plastic bags may do so by placing the bags curbside for pick-up. Please contact the Dallas Bor- ough administrative office at 675- 1389 or the road department at 674-5362 with any questions con- cerning the Dallas Borough 2007 CHURCH BRIEFS Zen Meditation program slated An Introduction to Zen Med- itation will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct 30, at Mercy Center on the campus of Misericorida University.
