Brett Wanek ran for over 240 yards with four rushing touch- downs. Also scoring touchdowns on passes from Wanek were Jason Simonovich on a 3-yard reception and Shane Dunn with a 35-yard re- ception. The 2-point conversions were scored by Logan Bullock and Dunn. Picking up additional yar- dage for the mounts were Austin Smith, Logan Bullock and Jason Simonovich. The Dallas defense was led by Donnie Behm, Billy Dixon, Zach Macosky, Ben Kon and Shane Dunn who had two interceptions. Dallas travels to Swoyersville today. B TEAM Jr. Mounts 36 Edwardsville Eagles 14 The Dallas B Team had another strong performance last Sunday as it defeated Edwardsville, 36-14, to continue its undefeated streak.. In the first quarter, Mark Mich- no broke loose for a 45-yard touch- down run and John Hutchins add- ed two points on the conversion. In the second quarter on a fourth down and long, Dallas’s Ryan Za- poticky broke several tackles to rush for a 62-yard touchdown, put- ting Dallas up 14-0. Edwardsville got on the board as #43 broke through the secondary and ran for an 80-yard touchdown. In the third quarter, Mikey Shutlock scored a TD for Dallas by rushing into the endzone. The Dallas defense, led by John Hutchins, Ryan Monk, Russell Newell, Aaron Yurko and Mark Michno, drove Edwardsville back into its own endzone for a safety. Mikey Shutlock scored late in the fourth quarter from seven yards out to put the final score at 36-14. C TEAM Jr. Mounts 32 e Eagles 6 The Dallas Jr. Mounts C team took home another victory last week against Edwardsville. The great blocking on the line by Jim- my Barlow, Spencer Bowanko, Ai- dan Martinez and Ryan Phillips al- lowed Cole Dixon, Matt Harrison and David Simpson to score for the Jr. Mounts. The defensive line led by Keith Gillette, Justin Sweeney and Mi- chael Farrel, once again held its opponents to just six points. D TEAM The Dallas Jr. Mounts D team used a ball control offense and a late defensive stop in the shadow of its own endzone to thrill the home crowd. Joshua Lydon scored a touch- down and 2-point conversion and Jay Bittner added a touchdown be- hind the blocking of Sean Henniger, Kurtis Rynies and Tom Hajikowski. Mannello, Oakley score; Bobcats win first C TEAM Bobcats 16 Kingston Huskies 6 What a great day for the Bob- cats C team last Sunday when it defeated the Kingston Huskies, 16-6, to record their first victory of the season. The Bobcats received the kick and started their offense drive on the 40-yard line. Bob Oakley and Cameron Brennan ran the ball to bring up two Bobcat first downs. On second and nine yards to go, Oakley broke free to score for the Bobcats. Stone Mannello scored the extra two points to put the Bobcats up, 8-0. Charlie Kuschke kicked the ball to the Huskies and great tackles were made by Chris Mennig and Zach Haddle forced the Huskies to fumble the ball which Haddle recovered. Oakley and Mannello ran the ball with great blocking by the offensive line of Dan Sweeney, Chris Men- nig, Eric Sweppenheiser, Owen Morgen, Jacob Corey, Chris Al- len and Zack Haddle. The Bob- cats were unable to score and Oakley punted the ball on fourth down. In the second quarter, the Bobcats played great defense. Kingston fumbled the ball and RJ Driscoll recovered it for the Bobcats. Oakley, Brennan, Man- nello and Steven Darling all had good runs, advancing the Bob- cats to the 35-yard line. But the Back Mountain boys turned the ball over on downs and Kingston scored with only 17 seconds left in the half. The 2-point conversa- tion failed and the Bobcats were still ahead, 8-6. Kingston received the ball on the 45-yard- line to begin the sec- ond half. With a help on the de- fense by Devin Dickson, Dan Schnable, Marcus Steele, Zack Gable, AJ Spears and Anthony Grandinetti and great tackling by Haddle, Driscoll and Corey, the Bobcats forced the Huskies to punt on fourth down. Oakley and Brennan ran for first downs and the Bobcats were on the 32-yard line. On fourth down and eight yards to go, Mannello did a power play boot left and scored for the Bob- cats. Oakley completed the two point conversion and the Bob- cats went ahead, 16-6. Charlie Kuschke kicked off to the Huskies but great tackles by Oakley and Menning forced the Huskies to turn over the ball on downs. With 2:50 left in the game, the Bobcats ran out the clock and captured their first win of the season. Fourteen players from the Scranton Eagles, along with their head coach, visited the Bobcats recently at the Dallas Middle School football field and conducted a clinic where they covered all football positions with the younger players.
