In the softball game, Kristan Bak- er tossed a complete-game shutout as Dallas posted a 10-0 win against the Black Knights. The win allowed the Mountaineers to remain unde- feated in the Wyoming Valley Con- ference Junior High School league. In the baseball game, Lake-Leh- man used a strong offense to post a 14-9 win against Dallas. Kyle Caf- frey, Matt Bevan and Josh Everett each had two hits, while Tom Smith was the winning pitcher. Softball is supposed to be played in the spring but Lake-Lehman's Ashley Metz is bundled up for winter weather. FOR THE DALLAS POST/ CHARLOTTE BARTIZEK Lake-Lehman pitcher Tom Smith picked up the mound win against rival Dallas. Lake-Lehman's Justin Cornell stops the ball from going through the in- field as Marc Noyalis of Dallas ad- vances to third base. Mountaineer Sarah Konopki kicks up some dirt as she slides safely into second base while Selena Adamshick receives the ball too late to make the tag.
