Gail Ide, parish nurse, instructed the children and interested ‘adults in proper hand-washing techniques. The children then washed their hands and inspected ‘them under a black light for any germs left behind. Men's breakfast held each Tuesday The Shavertown United Methodist Church recently began holding a weekly ecumen- ical men’s breakfast. The group meets at 8 a.m. each Tuesday at Pickett’s Charge restaurant on Route 415 in Dallas. The Dutch treat breakfast is followed by fellowship and a short devotion period. JOSEPH CELEBRATED AT GOH fade : Fa Sud Se Gate of Heaven School recently chose St. Joseph, husband Mary and foster father of Jesus, to be Saint of the Month as part of the school's “Feasting with the Saints” program. St. Joseph was remembered at a recent school liturgy as the protector of Mary and Jesus and the patron saint of the Universal Church. Father Joseph Weber, pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Church, was the cele- brant of the liturgy. Joseph Casciano, Scranton Diocesan superintendent of Catholic schools, and Mary Tigue, assistant superintendent, joined the students and teachers for the liturgy. Fr. Weber blessed and presented handmade crosses to 17 students named after St. Joseph, as well as to teacher Abe Joseph Simon.
