The Rev. Roger Griffith will lead the traditional service with communion. Prince of Peace sets Stations of the Cross Prince of Peace Episcopal Church will hold Stations of the Cross at 7 p.m. Feb. 23 and each Friday during the Lenten season at the church on Main Street in Dallas. Contemplative evening prayer will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a soup supper and discussion of the book, “Follow- ing Francis: the Franciscan Way for Everyone,” by Susan R. Pitchford. Ash Wednesday services planned The Shavertown United Methodist Church will hold Ash Wednesday services from 6:30- 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21 at the church on Pioneer Avenue. The morning service will be quiet and contemplative, with Communion and the imposition of ashes. There will also be a worship service at 7 p.m. with the impo- sition of ashes. Day of Prayer at Trinity Presbyterian The annual ecumenical World Day of Prayer Service will be hosted by Trinity Presbyterian Church at 1 p.m. Friday, March 2 at the church, 105 Irem Road in Dallas. The service will be lead by pastor Roger Griffith and other Back Mountain pas- tors. A tea will be held after the service in fellowship hall. A planning session and rehearsal for all participants will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at the church. Book discussions at Prince of Peace Prince of Peace Episcopal Church will hold “Tea on Tues- days” during March at the church on Main Street in Dallas. Tea will be served at 3:30 p.m. and the book discussion starts at 4 p.m. The discussions will be held March 6, 13, 20 and 27. The group will discuss “Ten Gospel Promises for Later Life” by Marie Thibault. Books are available by calling the church office at 675-1723. River of Life sets rummage sale The River of Life Fellowship Ministries Church will hold a craft/collectible show and rum- mage sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 17 at the church, 22 Outlet Road in Leh- man Township. Men's breakfast held each Tuesday The Shavertown United Methodist Church recently began holding a weekly ecumen- ical men’s breakfast. William Lewis dedicated and blessed the robes, which were dedicated in memory of Nancy Daring. The robes are in similar design and color to the adult choir. River of Life begins nightly meetings Pastors Stephen and Mary Ann Kotch of River Of Life at Kingdom Power Ministries in Shavertown will hold special meetings at 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday through Sunday at the church, located at 219 North Memorial Highway. The Sunday meetings will be held at 6 p.m, The meetings will vary each evening to include teaching on spiritual gifts, prophecy, heal- & ing, dreams and visions inter- pretation, spiritual counsel and worship. Awana Club meets at Grace Community The Awana Club of Grace Community Church meets from 6-7:45 p.m. each Wednesday at the church, located across from Chapel Lawn Cemetery on Memorial Highway. The club holds its meetings through April. The Bible-based club is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade.
