ESTs a a CHURCH BRIEFS ‘Souper Bowl set at Center Moreland The Center Moreland United Methodist Church is holding its annual “Souper Bowl of Caring” with activities scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 4. Youth from the church will be collecting money, canned goods and nonperishable items from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 3 at Thomas’ Foodtown Market in Tunk- hannock. The event will benefit the Wyoming County Food Bank and the Commission on Economic Opportunity. The Souper Bowl of Caring will take place Sunday, Feb. 4. Members of the youth group will take a collection to benefit St. Vincent dePaul Kitchen during the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services. A soup lunch will follow the 11 a.m. service. Jerry and Clara Mattocks will give a presentation about the Oriental Missionary Society Prayer Initiative in Ecuador. Items will also be collected for the Back Mountain Food Pantry. Items especially needed are pancake mix, pancake syrup, flour, cake mixes, cereals, canned pork & beans, canned vegetables, fruit, peanut butter, jelly, pasta and sauces.
