PAGE 6 THE POST OBITUARIES Sunday, January 14, 2007 PATRICIA ANN ROBINSON Magisterial district judge in Tunkhannock Magistrate Patricia Ann Robinson, of Bartron Road, Tunkhannock, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunk- hannock after a lengthy illness. She was born in Meshoppen on March 17, 1952, daughter of Stewart and Norma (Williams) Manning of Mehoopany. She was a 1970 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and attended Mansfield University. In January and February 1977, she attended Magisterial School receiving the highest honors in her class. In the spring of 1977, she won the pri- mary election of both tickets in Wyoming County. In Novem- ber, she took the office, serving as magisterial district judge for District 44-304 for 29 years. She was a member of the Tunk- hannock United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Robinson. Surviving is her hus- band of 17 years, Paul Samuels; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Christine Robin- son of Tunkhannock; sister and companion, Charlene Gilpa- trick and Chester Ward of Trout Lake, Washington; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn Jane and William Cease of Meshoppen; a brother and sis- ter-in-law, Stewart Mark and Melissa Manning of Tunkhan- nock; stepdaughter and step- son-in-law, Jill and Mickey Quinn of Duryea; and step- daughters, Stacey Samuels and Shannon Samuels of Duryea; grandchildren, Izabella and Ja- ren Robinson and Samantha Quinn. Ledford, 92, of Tu- lip Road, Lake Township, passed away peacefully Satur- day, Jan. 6, 2007 at The Mead- ows Nursing Center, Dallas. Born in Ada, Oklahoma, on Feb. 4, 1914, he spent most of his adult life in Oklahoma and California, where he was a min- ister and pastor to several Pen- tecostal Holiness congrega- tions. He moved to Pennsylvania in 1994 with his wife of 70 years, Alpha Lee, who preceded him in death. Andrew leaves behind sons Lee, Oklahoma City; Dan, Springfield, Missouri; daugh- ter Kathleen Ruotolo, Lake Township, Pa.; two grandsons; two granddaughters; a great- granddaughter; and a great- great-grandson. Susan was born in Meshop- pen on Jan. 12, 1955, daughter of John Whitman Sr. and Ro- mayne Elizabeth (Scott) An- derson of Tunkhannock. Susan graduated in 1973 from Tunk- hannock Area High School, where she enjoyed being a ma- jorette and belonging to the Li- brary Club. She also went to Elk Lake Vo-Tech to study to become a cosmetician and went to Star Academy in Pitt- ston for a manager’s license. Susan married Joseph R. Min- zak on Dec. 31, 1979. She has three daughters, Jennifer Deininger; Anna St. Clair; and Bobbi Jo and hus- band Justin Ely, all of Tunkhan- nock; one son, Joseph Robert Minzak IV and Fiancée Patricia Jette of Lake Winola; five brothers, John, Randy, George, Bruce, all of Tunkhannock; and David of Alabama; two sisters, Patricia of Tunkhannock and Emma of Kansas; four grand- children, Paige, Dakota Dein- inger and Tamara and Dylan St. Clair; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. SERFOSS Former member of Kunkle Fire Department Granville A. Serfoss, 83, of State Route 309 in Beaumont, passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2007 at his home. Born in Beaumont, he was the son of the late Amandus and Amy (Southworth) Ser- foss. He attended the Beau- mont schools. For many years he was a farmer and a forester for the Nesbitt’s. Prior to hisre- tirement he was a groundkeep- er for the Irem Temple Coun- try Club of Dallas. He was a member of the Kunkle Fire De- partment. RALPH W. Loved playing cards and hunting Ralph W. Nobel, 95, of Dal- las, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007 at the Meadows Nurs- ing Center, Dallas. Born in Wilkes-Barre, April 28, 1911, he was the son of the late John and Minnie (Max- field) Nobel. He was a graduate of James Coughlin High School, Wilkes- Barre. Mr. Nobel was a United States Army veteran of WW II. He has served with the 84th In- fantry Division and had been awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received during the Battle of the Bulge. Prior to his retirement, he had been em- ployed for 37 years with Penn Power and Light Company. He was a member of Trinity Pres- byterian Church, Dallas. He loved playing cards and hunt- ing. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Ayers No- bel, in 1965; by his sister, Ruth Bishop; and by his brothers, Harold, Robert, J. Traver and George. Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth Voelker; son John, Riverview, Fla.; grand- sons John and Gary; several nieces and nephews. Interment, Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas.
