He was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1938, and had ty. Mr. Eicke had served in the United States Air Force during WWII. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed for 48 years in the heating, air condi- tioning and ventilation indus- try, having been involved in de- sign and construction. He was ed Methodist Church, George M. Dallas Lodge, F&AM, the Irem Temple and the Caldwell Consistory. Mr. Eicke was also an active volunteer for the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. He was preceded in death by his wife, Erma B. Eicke, in 1994; by his brother, Philip; and his sister, Bess Henry. Surviving are daughters La- na Evans, West Pittston; Don- na Eicke, Franklin Park, N.J.; grandchildren Donald Robert Evans and Valarie L. MARCHAKITUS U.S. Army veteran, loved the outdoors Joseph S. Marchakitus, 57; a lifelong resident of Lake Silk- worth, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 at the Wilkes- Barre General Hospital follow- ing a short, but courageous, * ‘battle with cancer. He was born in Kingston, March 8, 1949, and was the son of ‘Charlotte (Nichols) Mar- chakitus, Dallas, and the late Joseph J. Marchakitus. He graduated from Lake- Lehman High School in 1967 and served in the US. Army during the Vietnam War era. Joseph was employed as a ma- “terials manager by the Penn- sylvania Department of Trans- portation for over 20 years. Mr. Marchakitus was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, and the Dallas: American Legion. He loved the outdoors and en- joyed spending time with his golden retrievers. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Victor J. Smith. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 33 years, the former Janet Smith: son, Joseph V., at home; daugh- ters, Jennifer and Jill Marchak- itus, both of Kunkle; Janine, Harveys Lake; brothers, John, Rantoul. Kapral, 50, of Dallas, passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 surrounded by his family at home. Born in Swoyersville on May 21, 1956, he was a son of Shirley Kapral, Edwardsville, and the late Raymond Kapral Sr. He was employed by Green Valley Landscaping as a heavy- equipment operator. Bruce was a licensed gunsmith who was an avid hunter and fisher- man. He loved to take his family on rides on- Sundays, often with no pre-set destination. * In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by daughter Danielle ‘Marie, brother Raymond Kapral Jr., and by father-in-law Walter Ya- kabovicz Bruce is survived by his wife of 32 years, the former Mau- reen Yakabovicz; daughter Jaime L.
