The Mountaineers used a strong defense and balanced offensive to post a 35-0 win against rival Lake-Lehman in the 59th annual Old Shoe Game last weekend at Mountaineer Stadium. Under first-year head coach Carl Kern, the Black Knights (0-10) came into the con- test battling a plethora of injuries. Despite the final score, the Lake-Lehman players showed a lot of heart during the contest. At press time, No. 1 seed Dallas (7-3) was preparing to host No. 4 West Scranton (5-5) in the first round of the District 2 Class 3A playoffs.
