The boys were led by Chris Dailey's fifth-place finish, fol- lowed by Jim Brown in sixth, Griffin Adams in eighth and Kevin Gilbert in10th. Also finishing in the p 25 were Mitch Cohen (20), Jake Reinert (22) and Mike Calkins (25). The boys also won the ackawanna County Commissioners Invitational at McDade Park. In the girls meet at the Endless Mountains Invitational, Dallas was Chelsey Conahan'’s fifth-place finish. Rachel Buckman crossed the line in 12th and Crystal Razawich finished 13th. JOHN WILKIN The Dallas field hockey team earned the No. 3 seed in the District 2 Class 2A playoffs with a 4-3 overtime win against Coughlin last week. The Mountaineers received four goals from Paige Selenski to defeat the Crusaders, who entered the game with a perfect record against Class 3A teams. At press time, Dallas was playing No. 5 seed Meyers in an opening round playoff game. MOUNTAINEERS REMAIN IN FIRST PLACE PHOTOS FOR THE DALLAS POST/CHARLOTTE BARTIZEK The Dallas Mountaineers remained atop the District 2 Class 3A playoff standings with a con- vincing 42-0 Homecoming win against Nanticoke Area last weekend. Senior running back Rob- ert Hayes inched closer to the1,000-yard mark for the season and also scored two touchdowns. The Mountaineers clinched their 18th different championship under head coach Ted Jackson this year by winning the Wyoming Valley Conference Class 3A title. Dallas has won 1 division titles under Jackson, three District 2 championships, four Eastern Conference championships and a state 2A title.
