The Bobcats will play in a semifinal game at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 in Swoyersville against an undetermined oppo- nent. The Bobcat D team also ended the regular season on a strong note posting an exciting 34-32 win against Exeter. Here are the results from the two games: C DIVISION The Bobcats C team finished the regular season in sole posses- sion of second place in Exeter. The Bobcats jumped out to an ay when running back Justin ucha ran 38 yards for the score. Quarterback Zachary Connolly had an outstanding game on both sides of the ball, recovering a fum- @ lead on their first offensive ble caused by defensive end Jesse Goode early in the game. Four plays later, Connolly connected on a 30-yard pass to tight end PJ Konnick and capped the drive on a 10-yard bootleg. Justus Schultz added the 2-point conversion to make the score 14-0. Mucha scored again before the end of the first half to put the Bob- cats up 20-0 at the half. The Bob- cats broke open the score in the third quarter when Connolly in- tercepted a pass on the 50-yard line and brought it back 35 yards to the Exeter 15. Mucha ran it in from there to make it 28-0. Exeter answered with two scores in the fourth quarter. Offensive linemen Morgan Salter, Jacob Corey and Dan Sweeney played well, while the defense was led by Mitchell Ben- son, Zach Haddle, Sam Parente and Jeremy Burton. D DIVISION Stone Mannello scored five touchdowns, including game- @\fannello scores five touchdowns in Bobcat win winner with 59 seconds remain- ing, as the Back Mountain Bob- cats finished the regular season with win against the Panthers. Early in the first quarter, Stone Mannello scored a 45-yard run touchdown to make the score 6-0. Following an Exeter score, Man- nello scored a 55-yard touchdown and Cameron Brennon added the two-point conversion. Trailing 20-14 early in the third quarter, Mannello scored a 55- yard run and Brennon added the conversion to tie the game at 20- 20. In the fourth quarter, the Pan- thers pulled ahead of the Bobcats, 26-20, but Mannello scored his fourth touchdown on a 42-yard run and Brennon added the two- point conversion to make it 28-26. Following an Exeter fumble in the fourth quarter, the Bobcats took over at the 35-yard line trail- ing 32-28. Mannello scored the game-winning touchdown and in- tercepted a pass to seal the win. The Dallas Junior Mounts will send three teams into the playoffs after finishing their regular sea- son in the Wyoming Valley West Junior Football League. Michno scored his second touchdown of the day on a 2-yard blast and Zapoticky added the two-point conversion to make it 20-8. In the fourth quarter, Zapoticky intercepted two passes, one of which was returned 60 yards for a score. Michael Gallis completed the scoring with a two-point conver- sion run. De- spite the loss, the Junior Mounts turned in an overall solid team ef- fort, led by Corey Harris, Billy Mi- kolaitis, Nick Muldoon, Keith Gil- lette, Ryan Monk and Mikey Shut- lock. D DIVISION The Junior Mounts finished on good note with a 22-20 win against Forty Fort. Xavier Barber scored two touchdowns and Jus- tin Hutchins ran for another while Connor Phillips provided run and blocking support for Dallas. The defensive was led by Barber, Ryan Phillips, Joe Thompson, Josh Pat- ton, Hutchins and Mike Farrell. CHURCH BRIEFS Pork and sauerkraut y on menu at St. Paul's St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will hold a family- style pork and sauerkraut dinner from 4-6:30 p.m. Saturday. Center Moreland UMC holding mission project The Center Moreland United Methodist Church is holding its annual Christmas Child Shoe Box mission project. The project is an international relief project of Samaritan’s Purse. Last year, more than seven million gifted-filled shoe boxes were distributed worldwide to chil- dren in 95 countries. October is “Get Your Shoebox Together” month at the church. Other churches in the area will also be taking part in the project. The boxes are due by Sunday, Nov. 5 and will be dedi- cated that day. Men's breakfast held each Tuesday The Shavertown United Methodist Church recently began holding a weekly ecumenical men’s breakfast. The group meets at 8 a.m. each Tuesday at Pickett’s Charge restaurant on Route 415 in Dallas. The Dutch treat breakfast is followed by fellowship and a short devotion period. Awana Club meets at Grace Community The Awana Club of Grace Community Church meets from 6-7:45 p.m. each Wednes- day at the church, located across from Chapel Lawn Cemetery on Memorial Highway. The club holds its meetings through April. The Bible-based club is open to boys and girls in kindergarten through sixth grade. Memorial Highway in Shavertown. The build- ing is located between Dreier’s Auto Sales and Dymond’s Farm Market. River Of Life at King- dom Power Ministries has also expanded its schedule. Gatherings are conducted at 7:30 p.m. six nights a week, Tuesday through Sun- day. Healing, intercessory prayer, training in the interpretation of dreams and visions, soaking prayer, and instruction on being able to see and understand spiritual things, will continue.
