Sl A RE PAGE8 THE POST Sunday, July 23, 2006 COMMUNITY Showing their More than 60 young equestrians from the Back Mountain and several surrounding communities participa- ted in a horse show last weekend at the Luzerne County Fairgrounds. The event was held to raise money for the SEMP — Summer Evangelical Missions Project — sponsored by the Fellowship Evangelical Free Church of Dallas. “It was a wonderful way to raise money for a very good cause,” said + Carolyn Trosky, who organized the event with fellow FEFC member Til- ly Weaver. “Everyone really pulled Lehman Township resident Cassie Kupriomis trots Dixie Chix around the ring in the equestrian divi- sion. stuff together. We had many members of the church — and people who don’t belong to the church — who were a great asset.” Proceeds from the event — approxi- mately $2,700 — will be used to de- fray the cost of sending a mission team of eight to South Africa and an- other team of five to New Orleans. Ribbons were awarded to winners in the 62 different classes and divi- sions. There were also monetary prizes for champions and reserve champions in several of the classes, along with prizes in other divisions.
