L PAGE6 THE POST Sunday, July 2, 2006 | CIVIC CIVIC BRIEFS Dance workshops at Dietrich Theater The Dietrich Theater in Tunkhannock will sponsor dance workshops July 5-7 featuring Judy Weist of The Stage Door Dance Studio. Classes will be open to girls and boys ages 2-12 and will be held at the Dietrich in the Peg Fassett Performance Studio and Evans Theater. There is no admission charge. For tots between the ages of 2-4, there will be an introduc- tion to dance from 9-10 a.m. The young students will learn dance through the use of movement and rhythm. There will be a beginner dance for students age 5-7 from 10:30- 11:30 a.m. and for dancers ages 8-12 from noon to 1 p.m. Chil- dren will have a chance to experience various types of dance including ballet, hip- hop and jazz. Weist has been an establish- ed, professional instructor in the Tunkhannock community for more than 27 years The workshops are open to begin- ners and to children who have already danced. There is no need for special attire, shorts, T-shirt and socks are accept- able. To register for a dance work- shop, call the Dietrich at 570- 996-1500. Space is limited. American Legion kitchen is open The kitchen at the Harveys Lake American Legion is open under new management. The kitchen hours are 5-10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday; and 3-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Legion has two halls available to be rented for any occasion and catering is available. Lake-Lehman plans reunion The Lake-Lehman Class of 2001 will hold its five-year reunion from 6-9 p.m. Sat- urday, July 8 at the Castle Inn on Route 415.A dinner buffet of chicken and beef, entertain- ment, and a two-hour open bar are included in the price. Alzheimer’s group sets monthly meeting The Alzheimer’s Support Group will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6 at the Mead- ows Nursing Center in Dallas. The facility is located at 55 W. Women's camp being held in July Camp St. Andrew in Tunk- hannock will host its second annual Women’s Getaway Weekend from July 7-9 at the camp on Stark Road. The pro- gram begins Friday evening and concludes Sunday after lunch. Activities include seat- ed massages, yoga, a campfire, kayaking, swimming, quiet time, wine tasting, nature walks, archery, a climbing tower, a rope course and a stress management workshop.
