The morning session will start at 9:10 a.m. and the evening session will begin at 5:45 p.m. Both sessions will feature a skit, puppet show, games, crafts, music and other activities. Center Moreland UMC sets adult VBS The Center Moreland United Methodist Church will hold an adult evening Vacation Bible School study, which will be held during the week of the children and youth VBS. The Bible schools will be held Monday through Thursday, June 19-22 at the church on Creamery Road in Center Moreland. The adult VBS study will take place from 7-8 p.m. and public is invited. The adult study “Spiritual Disciplines for Ordinary People” was written by John and Nancy Ortherg, teaching pastors of the Fo APNE Willow Creek Community Church. Community VBS to begin Aug. 7 A community-wide Vacation Bible School “The Xtreme En- counter: “A Salvation Space Journey” will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 7-11 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Route 118 in Dallas Township. The event for children ages 3 and older is being sponsored by churches of the Back Mountain Ministerium. The following churches will be represented — Shavertown United Methodist, St. Paul’s Lutheran, Dallas Unit- ed Methodist, Trinity Presby- terian, Prince of Peace Episco- pal and Huntsville United Meth- odist. The Bible school will feature music, crafts, stories, games and snacks. The registration dead- line is July 23 and limited to 150 children. Thomas, a 1990 grad- uate of Ebenezer Christian School in Plymouth, will per- form songs from her recently- recorded CD “simplest way.” The daughter of Modesto and Ana Ramirez has been singing and writing Christian music since 1990. Thomas lives in Bella Vista, Ariz. with her hus- band Andy and their two chil- dren, Caroline and Andrew Jr. There is no admission charge to attend the concert and the pub- lic is invited. Center Moreland UMC plans ‘Fiesta’ VBS The Center Moreland United Methodist Church will hold its annual Vacation Bible School from Monday, June 19 through Friday, June 23 at the church on Creamery Road in Center More- land. The VBS will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Friday. A closing program will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 23. This year’s theme is “Fiesta” and the event will feature Bible lessons, songs, games, crafts, snacks, daily Bible challenges, special mission projects and other activities. The VBS is open to boys and girls in kin- dergarten through high school. Nursery will be provided for the children of teachers and helpers.
