That’s a lot of devotion. We really appreciate it.” Legion member Clarence Mi- chael said it was appropriate to honor the longtime members, many of whom served during World War II. Several of the veter- ans honored at the breakfast couldn’t attend because of health problems. “The World War II vets are dy- ing every day,” he said. “These are special people. These were 17-, 18-, and 19-year-old kids dur- ing World War II. Many of them quit school or falsified their ages just to serve in the military. Even though a half-century has gone by since the war, we can’t forget them.” \ Wy 3 jis g 5 i 1 | ; From left, Steve Batorg, Chester Kunigonis and Marion Kunigonis prepared the food for a break- fast to honor longtime mem- bers of Daddow- Isaacs Post 672 in Dallas. FOR THE POST/CHARLOTTE BARTIZEK Michael is attempting to docu- ment the stories of World War II veterans from the Back Moun- tain. Any veteran from that war is encouraged to write down a few memories. If the veteran has diffi- culty writing, Michael will help write the stories. For more infor- mation, call Michael at 675-0488. “There are some great stories out there,” he said. “It would be great to document them.” WE'RE DEALING PRICED TO BE SOLD!
