LEHMAN Continued from Page 7 er), Aime Sgarlet (defender), Lauren Spencer (midfielder), Kelcey Cole (forward), Emily Duebler (defender); sopho- mores Shannon Bird (midfiel- der/forward), Kelly Bronson (midfielder); and freshman goalkeeper Melissa Attanasio. Junior midfielder Erin Sutliff and sophomore midfielder Lau- ra Kurello will also see playing time. “Defense is our strength,” said Spencer. If that’s the case, then junior sweeper Caroline Boris is the Sampson of the squad: “She’s great player. She does a great job reading where the ball should be and then she attacks it. Caroline is always in the right position at the right time. The other players look up to her.” Spencer replaced last year’s 4- 4-2 system —which uses four de- fenders, four midfielders and two forwards — with a 4-3-3 sys- tem in hopes of producing more offense. She’s looking for Cole, Hillard and Roderick to provide the offensive spark. “We need goals from them,” she said. “We need to take more shots.” The 26-year-old Spencer, who plays in a 30 and older league at the Wyoming Valley Sports Dome, always knew she would someday be a high school head coach. “It’s something I always want- ed to do,” said the former Lake- Lehman standout. “When I was playing at Lehman, I knew I'd be a coach. I enjoy it. It’s fun. I want to see the girls develop as a team and get used to me as a coach. We need some leadership. We're looking for someone to step up.” Boback for State Representative Service Integrity Commitment / ~~. B £35.
