The focus of the presentation will be math readiness. The presentations will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7 at Lehman-Jackson Elementary School; 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 at Ross Elementary School; and 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at Lake-Noxen Elementary School. Members of the faculty from each building will conduct the presentation. Registration may be made by calling Ross Elementary at 477- 5050 or 256-7897; Lake-Noxen Elementary at 639-1129; and Lehman-Jackson Elementary at 675-2165. This program is limited to children who will be 5 years old before Sept. 1, 2006 and who are planning to enter kindergarten for the 2006-07 school year. Welsh cookies, soup available for purchase The United Methodist Wom- en of the Orange United Metho- dist Church will hold a Welsh cookie and homemade soup sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the Franklin Township Fire Hall on Orange Road. Cookies are $3 a dozen and soup is $3.50 a quart. Orders should be called into 333-4286 or 333-4493 before Nov. 8, which is Election Day. The choice of soup is vegeta- | ble beef or chicken noodle. St. Therese's holding turkey raffle, bingo St. Therese’s Church will hold a turkey raffle and bingo at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21 in Father Sammons Hall. Shavertown UMC holding concert The Shavertown United Methodist Church will hold a concert as part of its Fine Arts Series at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 at the church on Pioneer Ave- nue in Shavertown. The concert will feature Christian recording artist Ken Medema. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children. Dallas Baptist Church begins new program The Dallas Baptist Church is holding its “40 Days of Purpose” campaign through Nov. 27 at the church on Route 415 in Dallas. The church will be one of approximately 13,000 churches from 60 denominations taking part in the program. The program was inspired from the book The Purpose Driven Life, which has sold more than 16 million copies since 2002. The book’s author is The Dallas Post OCAL PROS Rick Warren, a senior pastor at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif. The campaign’s five purposes for people — worship, fellow- ship, discipleship, ministry and evangelism — will be communi- cated through a weekly mess- age from Dallas Baptist Church pastor Jerry Branch, a personal or family daily devotional read- ing, a weekly memory verse from the Bible, a small group or Sunday school lesson, and daily encouragement through e-mail. Awana Club meets at Grace Community The Awana Club ministry at the Grace Community Church in Dallas meets from 6-7:45 p.m. every Wednesday at the church, which is located across from Chapel Lawn Cemetery on Memorial Highway.
