Born in Lithuania on May 11, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Julia Bertosh. She and her family moved to the United States when she was three months old. Mrs. Schuler was a homemaker all of her life. She resided in Wilkes-Barre and Harveys Lake most of her life before moving to North Fort Myers, Florida, in 1995. She was a former mem- ber of Our Lady of Victory Church, Harveys Lake, and the Harveys Lake Women’s Club. She enjoyed going to Dinner Theaters, playing pinochle, cro- cheting, crafts, and ceramics. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Francis Schuler, who passed away in 1987; a brother, Joseph Bertosh; and a sister, Olga Osika. Surviving are a son, Frank Schuler, Harveys Lake; a daughter, Dolores Pelech, North Fort Myers, Florida; four grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; a sister, Julia Yuscellis, Harveys Lake; many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife, the former Marguerite Saraka, with whom he celebrated his 54th wedding anniversary on Dec. 15, 2004. Born in Plymouth, he was the son of the late George and Bertha Lord Kreller. Charles graduated from Larksville High School and was a member of the River of Life Fellowship Ministries, Lehman. Prior to his retirement in 1987, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in the Sweet Valley area. After his retirement, he was employed at the Red Rock Job Corps Center in the transporta- tion department. He was a past master of the Sylvania Lodge, Shickshinny. “Chic” was an avid polka dancer, attending many local bazaars and dances. He was also an avid runner and walker, competing in many local races. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew and Elmer, and sisters, Cora Vnuk, Mary Lamoreaux, and Ida Walko. Lydia was a 2002 graduate of Wyoming Seminary and was currently in her junior year at Georgetown U. She was a mem- ber of the Lehman United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Howard E. Hall, Jr. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are five sisters, three nephews, one niece, paternal grandmother and maternal grandparents. She was born January 12, 1954, in Wilkes-Barre, the daughter of Leo and Mary (Tomko) O’Dea, Prichards Road, Hunlock Creek. WHITESELL Worked 25 years at Sheldon’s Lunch Betty R. Whitesell, age 77, of Pikes Creek, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at home. Mrs. Whitesell was born in Plymouth on May 5, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Perry and Cora Lord Hoover. She has resided at Pikes Creek most of her life. She graduated from Laketon High School, Harveys Lake, and was employed by Sheldon’s Lunch, Pikes Creek, for 25 years, retir- ing eight years ago. Mrs. Whitesell was a member of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church. Her husband, Sheron Whitesell, died in 1970. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Perry Hoover, Sheldon Hoover, and William Hoover, and a sister, Janis Kuffner. She is survived by daughters, Darlene Moss, Pikes Creek; Sheryl Goss, and her husband, Kenneth, Sweet Valley; brother, Wayne Hoover, Pikes Creek; and grandchildren, Megan and Kevin Goss. She was a member of the Silver Leaf Club of Dallas and a member of the Grace Baptist Church of Florence. She was involved with other activities in Florence also. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Nelson Miers, four sons, two daughters, two brothers, and four sisters.
