McGovern doubled and sin- gled while driving in three runs. Josh Shilanski, George Parkhurst, Harry Parkhurst and Michael Carey added two hits each. Shilanski and Frank Henry drove in two runs each. BMT American 16, Nanticoke 9 Neil Shaver, Greg Petorak and J.J. McGovern held off Nanticoke long enough to let Back Mountain American pull out a win. Shaver, Harry Parkhurst and Matt Doggett had three hits each while George Parkhurst, Jason Simonovich and Michael Carey added two each. Simonovich homered and Doggett drove in four runs. Carey and Harry Parkhurst __drove in three runs each. Zawatski continued his torrid hitting, going 4-for- 5. Neil Shaver, Jason Simonovich, Harry Parkhurst and Kyle Razawich added two hits each while Razawich stole four bases. With the score tied at five going into the top of the seventh, George Parkhurst led off with a double in the right field gap and Josh Shilanski fol- lowed with a 10-pitch at- bat to work a walk. After both runners advanced on an out, Zawatski drove them in with a single to center. Shaver came in to nail down the win in the bot- tom half of the seventh. The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses (ACSP) is an educa- tion and certification program that promotes ecologically- sound land management and the conservation of natural resources on established golf courses. To reach certification, a course must demonstrate that they are maintaining a high degree of environmental quali- ty in a number of areas, includ- ing: environmental planning, wildlife & habitat manage- ment, outreach and education, chemical use reduction and safety, water conservation, and water quality management. Huntsville Gold Club is one of 13 courses in Pennsylvania to receive the honor. Park offers free loan of fishing gear Frances Slocum State Park is now an official Fishing Tackle Loaner site. The public can come to the park’s contact sta- tion, 565 Mt. Olivet Road, Friday thru Sunday between 1 and 8 p.m. and borrow rods, reels and a tackle box full of hooks and other tackle. The equipment is borrowed in much the same way books are borrowed from a library. Those wanting to borrow gear com- plete a form and the loan is made. At the end of the loan period the equipment is returned to the site. This pilot program is a part- nership between the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, the American Sportfishing Association, and Frances Slocum State Park. The program is designed to make it easy for anyone to access fishing tackle. This equipment may also be loaned to groups conducting angler education programs in the community. There is no charge.
