Laing fire Company of Dallas are shown removing the bell from the old Shavertown school building, which stood in the vicinity of the present Burger King. The bell was taken to the Back Mountain Memorial Library, where it is rung each year to signify the opening of the annual auction. This year's event takes place July 8-11.
