Arnold Thomas (Tom) Williams, 65, of Sweet Valley, died June 18, 2005, at Community Care Hospice, Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, after a courageous fight with cancer. He was born in Roaring Brook on Sept. 1, 1939, a son of the late Paul E. and Jeanette (Evans) Williams. Mr. Williams was a strong and courageous man who loved his family more than life itself. One of Tom’s greatest accomplishments in life was his family. He was a, wonderful husband, father, grandpa, brother, teacher and friend. Tom was in the trucking business for over 41 years as an owner/operator and the owner of Tom Williams Trucking, Inc., before retiring in 2002. Tom is survived by his wife and best friend of 43 years, the former Janice Garbush; daughter, Wendy Lee Kalinowski and her husband, Kevin, Sweet Valley; granddaughters Kelsi Irene and Cierra LeAnn; brother George R. Williams and his wife, Marlis, San Antonio, Texas; sis- ters Shirley Heiser and her hus- band, Robert, Sweet Valley; Linda L. Keast and her hus- band, James, Mechanicsburg; many nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews and many great friends. He is going to be a loss to all of us. School, JESSE J. SEARFOSS Avid bowler and sports fan Jesse J. Searfoss, 24, of Noxen, beloved son of Clarence “Bo” and Linda Searfoss, Noxen, went home to be with his Lord on June 19, 2005 at the Community Medical Center, Scranton, as a result of injuries received in a truck acci- dent in Northmoreland Township. Mr. Searfoss was born in Tunkhannock, Jan. 13, 1981, and was a graduate of Tunkhannock Area High class of 1999. He attended Penn Technical College, Williamsport. He was employed by the Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Tobyhanna. Jesse had a real love for bowling and was a member of Steve’s Used Tires Bowling League. He bowled in many area houses in the Wyoming Valley. He also loved hunting and fishing and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Penguins, NCAA Basketball and football. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather Clarence A. Searfoss, maternal grandpar- ents William and Frances LaBonce, and paternal great grandparents Arthur and Hazel Searfoss. Surviving in addition to his parents are his only sis- ter, Christa M. Seward, and her husband, Brian, Vernon; nieces Kaylee and Stephanie, whom he loved dearly; grandmother Ruth Searfoss of Dallas. JOSEPH GRIMES Owned auto glass firm, active in community M. Joseph Grimes, 74, of Dallas, died June 19, 2005, at Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre. Born in Kingston, May 14, 1931, he was a son of the late Maurice J. and Mary (Hurley) Grimes. He graduated from Kingston High School, class 0f1949. He served with the United States Navy during the Korean conflict aboard the USS Cambria. Upon returning home, he joined Grimes Auto Glass, a business founded by his father, Maurice J. Grimes. Following the death of his father, he con- tinued as owner until retire ment. Joe was a member and past president .of the Wilkes-Barre Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and a charter mem- ber of the Father O’Leary Council, Dallas. He was past commander of the Kingston Post of the American Legion and a member and past presi- dent of the Dallas Kiwanis. Joe had been a volunteer driver for the Red Cross and a volunteer at the VA Medical Center. He was an active member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. His brother, David A. Grimes, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, the former Mary Jean (Hagan); mother-in-law Helen Hagan; nephews David M. Grimes and Joe Grimes. PAULINE DAVIS Tunkhannock High School graduate Pauline H. Davis, 83, of Margrow Road, Tunkhannock, died June 21, 2005, at Community Medical Center, Scranton, after an ill- ness. She was born in Keiserville on Sept. 10, 1921, a daughter of the late Russell and Frances Keithcart Harvey. She was a widow of the late John D. Davis, who died Nov. 10, 2002. She was formerly employed as a dressmaker at Bocar Manufacturing, Tunkhannock, and the Falls Dress Company. She was a member of the ILGWU and a graduate of Tunkhannock High School. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Percy and Donald Harvey, and two sis- ters, Marian Grow and Ruth Spring. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John, Jr. and Sharon B. Davis of Mill City; a daughter, Dorene Dougherty, Tunkhannock; two granddaughters, Shannon Muldoon and Amy Davis, - Allentown; great- grandson, Tyler Davis Muldoon of Chester Springs; two sisters, Eleanor Milligan and Doris Colbenson, both of Tunkhannock; brother, Russell Harvey, Hemlock, NY; several nieces and nephews. Judge, age 74, of Ricketts Glen, died June 19, 2005, at the Bonham Nursing Center, Stillwater. Mrs. Judge was born in Kingston on March 12, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Warren and Mae Boston. She resided at Pikes Creek prior to moving to Ricketts Glen 36 years ago. She graduated from Laketon High School, Class of 1949, with high honors. Mrs. Judge was a member of the Bethel Hill United Methodist Church and its Women’s Society. A brother, Dean Keller, pre- ceded her in death. She is survived by her hus- band of 45 years, Thomas H. DOLORES MAE (HALL) SWELGIN Harter High graduate Dolores Mae (Hall) Swelgin of Shavertown died June 16, 2005, at the Hospice Community Care, Mercy Hospital, after a long illness. She was born May 1, 1929 in West Nanticoke, and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Vida (Cragle) Hall. She graduated from Harter High School, West Nanticoke. Surviving are her hus- band of 55 years, Elmer; son, Donald, Shavertown; daughter, Debra Moss, Florida; sisters, Thema Evarts, New Jersey, and Jacqueline Rex, New York. Jocelyn, of Falls, died June 15, 2005, in Community Medical Center in Scranton. He was born in Hop Bottom on March 9, 1948, a son of the late Lewis and Leone Smith Jocelyn. He was a 1966 gradu- ate of Tunkhannock High School. He received a degree in social studies from the University of Miami in 1971 . and taught school in the Tunkhannock Area School District. He was a former part- . her in the East Bay Tavern in Lake Winola. An avid bowler and golfer, he worked the sum- mers in the Pro Shop at the Shadow ‘Brook Resort in Tunkhannock.
