Rotary Club of Dallas fine art auction for charity SCOUTING FOR FOOD Troop 281 collects 2 tons Boy Scout Troop 281 flood- ed the Back Mountain with scouts on March 5, collect- ing over 2,200 non-perish- able food items. These were sorted, boxed, and delivered to the food banks at both the Trucksville United Methodist Church and the River of Life Fellowship Church. Additional workshops include “Right Plant, RIght Place,” “The Dirt about Dirt—Soils and Fertilizers,” “PA's Most Wanted—Invasive Plants,” and “Integrated Pest Management.” The workshops will be held in the science building at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre cam- pus, beginning with registra- tion at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per per- son to attend any or all work- shops. Legion breakfast to honor longtime members Dallas American Legion Post 672 will have a breakfast on April 9 at 9 a.m., to honor 50 - and 60-year members and ded- icate a new plaque for Post 672 Past Commanders. A meeting will be held on The Rotary Club of Dallas, in conjunction with Ross Galleries of New York, will sponsor an art auction on Sunday, April 10 at the Irem Temple Country Club, Country Club Road, Dallas. This annual food drive by the scouts makes up about 20 to 25 percent of the food required to meet the needs of the clients at the food pantry in Trucksville. More than 10,000 others in Northeastern Pennsylvania participated in the event. April 8, at 8 p.m. to make the final arrangements for the breakfast.
