The Mountaineers also swept the three relay events. Dallas 133, West Scranton 48 Feb. 4 — The Lady Mounts defeated West Scranton by plac- ing first in 10 of 12 events. The team of Mallory Kern, Hillary Smith, Paige Kyle and Kira Szulborski broke the Dallas school record in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:48.60. Winning individual events were Gretchen Mengeringhausen (200 free), Kasia Szulborski (200 IM), Kern (50 free), Smith (100 fly), Sarah Gaouse (500 free) and Marci Romanoski (100 back). Dallas swept the diving com- peition, with Erica Lisses in first. Tunkhannock Area 111, Berwick 62 Feb. 4 — Each team placed first in six events, but the dis- parity between second and third j place finishers for the Tigers resulted in a one-sided meet. Mauri Anderson (50 free), Adriana Boylan (diving), Jessica Shaw (100 free) and Courtney Austin (100 breast) 4 all had first-place finishes for Tunkhannock. ! Lehman 115, O'Reilly 47 i Feb. 3 — Megan Devine won i two individual events (50 free, 100 back) and was on the win- ning 200 free relay team for Lake-Lehman at. the College Misericordia pool. Elyse Apaliski won the 200 IM, and was on the 200 free relay team; Emily Aston won the 500 free and Allison Boris won the 100 breast stroke. Youth bball tournament . North. American © Youth Sports is holding a basketball tournament at the University of Scranton for boys and girls in grades five through 12. Games will be held March 11, 12, and 13. There will be a $100 entry fee, per team. The Mountaineers took advantage, with sophomore Brad Fagula scoring 12 of his 16 points in the final quarter. Junior center Robbie Myers, who was plagued by foul trouble, scored five points in the fourth quarter and another six in overtime to finish with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Wilson and Ryan Nemetz chipped in 10 points apiece. Leary had a big second half and overtime for Bishop Hoban, scoring 17 of his 19 points after halftime. BOYS SWIMMING Dallas 95, Hanover Area 79 Feb. 9 — Dallas won only two individual events —Alaric Eby (diving) and Andrew Vanloon (100 free) — and one relay, but had more depth to defeat Hanover. Dallas 133, West Scranton 29 Feb. 4 — Dallas placed first in 10 of 12 events and easily defeated a West Scranton team that had just five swimmers. Tom Runscavage had two first-place finishes (100 fly, 200 free) and was on two winning relay teams (200 medley, 200 free) for the Mountaineers. Also winning were Mike Fasulka (200 IM), Mike Tonart (100 free), John Thompson (500 free) and Allen Gonczol (100 back). Alaric Eby won in diving. Tunkhannock Area 96, Berwick 76 Feb. 4 — Berwick placed first in eight of 12 events, but Tunkhannock was able to over- come that disparity by racing more swimmers and taking the overwhelming majority of the lower finishes. Steve VanDuzer led the Tigers with first-place finishes in the 50 and 100 free, and was on the winning 400 free relay team. Jake Smith won the 200 freestyle race. Bishop O'Reilly 72, Lake- Lehman 36 Feb. 3 — The team of Ryan Bloom, Ryan Ruda, Cameron Evans and Kevin Tomayko won the 400 freestyle relay for the Black Knights. WRESTLING Lake-Lehman 2nd at District 2 Duals Feb. 5 — The Black Knights advanced to the finals where they lost to West Scranton 41- 27. In that match, Brandon Higgins (152) and Matt Dragon (160) won by fall; Joe Klemunes (189) won by technical fall and Jeremy Schutz (135) won a major decision. In the semifinals, Lake- Lehman beat Scranton Prep 54- 21. Donovan White (103), Schutz (140), Andy Josuweit (145), Dragon (160), Klemunes (189) and Stan Brudnicki (275) pinned their opponents. Lake- Lehman beat Susquehanna 54- 21 in the first round, with Schutz, Dragon, Higgins, Brandon Brown, Klemunes and Brudnicki winning by fall. Dallas lost 62-13 to West Scranton in the first round. Winning Mountaineers were John Hettes (130), Sean McMahon (140) and Brian Goeringer (171). Tunkhannock 54, Nanticoke 8 Feb. 5 — Dustin Faux (145), Stefan Adams (171), Brent Richter (189), Mike Aguilar (215) and Eric Ransom (heavy- weight) all won by fall. Jake Burgess (135) and Andy Solanick (160) won decisions for the Tigers. Meyers 42, Tunkhannock 35 Feb. 3— Consecutive pins at 275, 103 and 112 to close the match gave Meyers ‘a ‘come- from-behind victory. Tunkhannock trailed 24-12 but got four consecutive falls from Andy Solanick (160), Stefan Adams (171), Brent Richter (189) and Eric Ransom (215) to take a 36-24 lead.
