Staff report Feb. 8 — Sophomore Kyle Flemings drained an 18-foot jumper with three seconds remaining in overtime, lifting the Argents to an 83-82 win against Dallas in a game that ended the Mountaineers’ hopes for a Division II champi- onship. A clutch three-pointer by Dallas senior Matt Wilson as time expired in the fourth quarter forced overtime. Mountaineer senior Matt Kelly gave his team an 82-81 lead, the only lead Dallas (4-2, 16-7) had in the game, with 23 seconds remaining. After a timeout, Hoban senior guard Sean Leary found a wide-open Flemings, who calmly nailed the game-win- ner. “This is a tough way to end the regular season,” said Dallas head coach Ted Jackson Jr., who received a game- high 22 points from Kelly. “Wilson makes a clutch shot for us, but we never got back the momentum in overtime.” Jackson said his defense initially did a nice job on Flemings on the final play, but then, “We turned our heads and we lost him.” See DALLAS, pg 9 FOR THE POST/PETE G.
