Matt Tatarnyw led off the game with a 50-yard touchdown run, shortly fol- lowed by a Gawlas to Robby Evans for a 25 yard score. Dylan Thomas, Gawlas, and Chris , Ostrum each scored on impres- sive runs. Scoring on the two- point conversions were Ostrum, Justin Hromek, and Jake Piskorik. Neil Shaver rushed for four scores - while Jacob Rome closed it out with a 26-yard scamper around right end. Matt Doggett, Jesse +Shaffer and Delamater added conversions. The win improved the Raiders record to 6-2, clinched a playoff berth and home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Forty Fort Flyers 14, Kingston Twp. D 8 Kingston Township lost a closely fought battle against Forty Fort, which entered the game in first place. The Raiders’ stingy defense was led by Michael Olenginski, Mitch Kelly, Tanner Gattuso, Peter ’!Capitano and Ricky Morgan. Omar Nijmeh returned a fumble 55 yards for a touchdown but the Raiders ran out of time in o Dallas over the their comeback attempt. Despite the loss, the Raiders :“D” team clinched their first pn post-season berth. Dallas B 34, Plymouth O The Dallas Junior Mounts B team made it eight straight wins with a victory Oct. 10 in Plymouth Indians. Key offensive line play- ers were Anthony LaFratte, Jesse Shaffer carried for the Kingston Township Raiders C team, which beat the Forty Fort Flyers 36-8. Chase Benson, Paul Brace and Kevin Muldoon. Their work allowed Dallas running backs Adam Goeringer and Brett Wanek to score two touch- downs each. Stephen Zapoticky recovered a fumble late in the fourth quarter to add another touchdown for the Junior Mounts. The Dallas defensive unit held the Plymouth Indians scoreless. Leading tacklers were Bryan McDonnell, Garrett Artsma, Buddy Shutlock, Zack Dirsa and Goeringer. On special teams, Dirsa provided Dallas with some booming kicks that pinned the Indians deep in their own territory. With two regular season games left, Dallas has secured its spot for the top seed in the playoffs. Dallas C 32, Plymouth 6 Scoring touchdowns behind a strong offensive line were Nathan Vario and Mark Michno with two each and J.J. McGovern with one. Mike Kapral scored on a two-point conversion. J.J. McGovern recovered a fumble, while the whole defensive unit held the Indians to one score. Dallas D 28, Plymouth 8 Kris Rosencrans scored his first touchdown of the year for the Junior Mounts. The defense shut down Plymouth after the score was tied 88 in the first half. Running the ball success- fully for the Mounts were Mikey Shutlock with a pair of touch- downs and a two-point conver- sion and Mitch Benson with a touchdown. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Lake-Lehman 3, Meyers 2 Oct. 13 — Junior setter Hannah Sorber had 17 kills, 29 assists, seven service points and five blocks to lead Lake- Lehman to a hard-fought victo- ry over Meyers. Dallas junior cheerleaders receive 10 trophies The Dallas Junior Mount cheerleaders captured several awards Sept. Plymouth. The event was the first of the seasonfor the Junior Mounts. The A team won second place, dance routine, hometown cheer and chant cheer; and an overall award for hello cheer; the B team won first place in dance routine, chant cheer and hello cheer; and third place in hometown cheer; and the C team won third place for dance routine. The squads also won the “Overall Spirit” award, the most'prestigious award given, which is given to the squad who displays the most enthusiasm and spirit through- out the competition.
