The center's focus is to enhance a wide range of developmentally appropriate social, cognitive, creative, linguistic and quantitative skills while devel- oping the self-esteem of each child. TET ON NE Awana to begin at bce City Cid Awana begins Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Grace Community Church in Dallas from 6 to 7:45 p.m. This is a weekly Bible club that runs Sep- tember through April. There is a Cubbies Club for children 2 years old through kindergarten; Sparks Club for those in kindergarten through second grade; and T&T, or Truth and Training Club, for grades 3-6. Fall chicken barbecue planned at Trucksville UMC The Trucksville United Methodist Church will hold its Trustees fall chicken barbecue on Oct. 1. and 2. Take-outs begin at 4:30 p.m. and the serving will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children and can be purchased by calling the church office at 696-3897 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The tickets may be picked up at the church office or at the barbecue. Home Coming at Ruggles UMC The Ruggles United Methodist Church, located on Rt. 29, will hold a Home Coming on Sunday, Oct. 10. A special 11 a.m. service will be followed by a covered dish luncheon at which the meat will be provid- ed. All are invited to attend. Brown Baggers at Shavertown UMC Each month several retired friends gather for lunch at Shavertown United Methodist Church, 163 N. Pioneer Ave. Shavertown.
