Sunday, September 19, 2004 T POST 1 urch & Community hk Church holds kindness raid and other events The Center Moreland United Methodist Church Sunday School held spe- cial events throughout the summer, including crafts with devotions, a Bible drill and putting a mission box of goodies and prayer notes together for John Lann, who is serving in Irag. A Sunday school breakfast, a scrip- ture scavenger hunt and a kindness raid was also done. During the raid, VBS songs were sung to "Til." GOH Altar and Rosary holds 48th Birthday Tea The Altar and Rosary Society from The Gate of Heaven Church in:Dallas held its 48th annual Birthday Tea on September 12. More than 200 peo- ple attended this major fundraiser. Twelve tables were decorated for each month of the year along with a special birthday table. Some of table themes were: Snowy Sleigh Ride, Easter, April Showers, Garden Party, County Fair, Autumn Angels, and An Old Fashioned Christmas. Rev. Kevin Mulhern gave the blessing to start the festivities. Entertainment was pro- vided by the talented dancers from the Back Mountain Dance Studio. A raffle was held and door prizes were awarded. Awana to begin at Grace Community Church Awana begins Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Grace Community Church in Dallas from 6 to 7:45 p.m. This is a weekly Bible club that runs September through April. There is a Cubbies Club for children 2 years old through kindergarten; Sparks Club for those in kindergarten through second grade; and T&T, or Truth and Training Club, for grades 3-6. Fall chicken barbecue planned at Trucksville UMC The Trucksville United Methodist Church will hold its Trustees fall chicken barbecue on Oct. 1 and 2.
