The state Fish and Boat CommiS@§l sion and its cooperators are offering several basic boating courses in the region. Most of these eight-hour courses are free, and all are open to the public. Course graduates have the option to apply for a boating safety educa- tion certificate for a $10 fee. The certificate is required for personal watercraft operators and youth that operate motorboats of certain horse- power.
