Dale, age 46, of Sweet Valley, died April 5, 2004, at the Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. She was born in Wilkes- Barre, Feb. 24, 1958, and was a daughter of Delores Roberts Sorber, Sweet Valley, and the late Phillip R. Sorber. She graduated from Lake- Lehman High School, class of 1976. # She was anploved by the So- cial Security Administration, Plains Township, for the last 12 years. She was a member of the Bg United Methodist @ P' She was preceded in death ‘by a brother, Rodney P. Sorber; fand a sister, Kathleen M. Patla. She was a member of the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock and was preceded in death by her hus- band, Stanley Remington; sis- ters, Nellie Plantamura, Bertha McDaniels; stepbrothers, John, Frank and Adam Lalus; stepsis- ters, Jenny Lalus and Mary Moss. She attended the Noxen schools. She was a member of St. Luke’s Reforma- tion Lutheran Church, Noxen, Dallas Chapter 396 Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a 50-year member, Wyoming County Senior Citi- zens, Eatonville and was an ac- tive volunteer. She was preceded in, death by her husband of 61 years, Walter F.; daughter, Eleanor Womer; son-in-law, Urban Womer; daughter-in-law, Doris L. Galka; son-in-law, Ronald Saus; brothers, Severn, Charles and Ralph Newberry; sister, Carolyn Pogar. Howard Tinsley, 90, for- merly of Dallas, died March 27, 2004, in Collingdale. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvin A. Tinsley. He was a graduate of Meyers High School. Before leaving the area, he was a teacher and coach in the Dallas Borough schools. He was predeceased by his brother, Leslie. Surviving are daughter, Judy Boutilier, Alden; son, Robert, Folsom; three grandchildren, nieces’'and nephews. Mr. Lobacz was born in Poland, April 30, 1922, and was the son of the late Walter and Eva Lobacz. He came to the United States at the age of two. He graduated from Brooklyn High School, Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a medic and can- noneer with active duty in the battles of Ardennes, Central Eu- rope, Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Schaefer Brewing Co., Brooklyn, N.Y., for 24 years. His wife, the former Stella Makowski, died in 1989. He was also preceded in death by a twin brother, Walter; and a brother, Frank. Surviving in addition to his two sons are: daughter, Maryann Masakowski, West Nanticoke; six grand children; eight great-grandchildren. Interment, Maple Cemetery, Pikes Creek. Atherholt, 97, of Saugerties, N.Y., died March 30, 2004 at the Golden Hill Health Related Facility, Kingston, N.Y., after a lengthy illness. Born Dec. 20, 1906, in Kingston Township, she was a daughter of the late Morris G. and Abbie (Eckhart) King. She was employed for over 13 years at World Book Encyclo- pedia, Field Enterprises in Wilkes-Barre. A Saugerties- area resident since 1972, she previously resided in Luzerne. She was a member of the Saugerties United Methodist Church, N.Y., the Methodist Church Choir, the United Methodist Church Ladies Aid, the Saugerties Monday Club, and was a former Ulster Coun- ty Hospice Volunteer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl J. Ather- holt Sr., in 1957. Survivors include one daughter, Roberta A. Gaven, Saugerties; two sons, Earl J. Atherholt Jr, Wallingford, Conn.; Morris K. Atherholt, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Interment, Fern Knoll Ceme- tery, Dallas. Township High School Francis G. Youngblood Jr., 79, of Shavertown, died April 6, 2004 at Wilkes-Barre Gener- al Hospital. Born in Georgetown, April 27, 1924, he was a son of the late Francis and Agnes (Ward) Youngblood Sr. He was a grad- uate of Kingston Township High School, class of 1942. Pri- or to his retirement, he had been employed as a driver for PennDOT. He had also been employed with the Armour Company and as a Kingston Township crossing guard. He was a WW II veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, where he had served as an ush- er.
