They were married December 26, 1953 in the East Dallas United Methodist Church by the Rev. Thomas Davis. Mrs. Wagner is the daughter of the late Reuel and Mary Lasher. Mr. Wagner is the son of the late Frank and Elva Wag- ner. They have three sons, William, Robert and Barry and five grandchildren, Kelly, Jason, Marcus, Courtney and Robert. A family dinner marked the occasion. The couple’s children surprised their parents with tickets for a Caribbean cruise. Master Gardener signup deadline is January 2 The Penn State Cooperative Extension of Luzerne County will be offering a Master Gardener Training program for Volunteers beginning February 4 and running through April 7. In exchange for 30 hours of indoor instruction, candidates must agree to donate 50 hours of volunteer service to Penn State Coop- erative Extension within the first year. Barletta has graduated from ba- sic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and re- ceived instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and cere- mony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed com- bat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
