DAVID POSATKO Long-time public defender in two counties David Peter Posatko, 56, of Dallas, died November 13, 2003 at home. A native of Plains Township, he was born on October 23, 1947, and was the son of the late Dr. Peter C. Posatko, M.D. and Pauline Loignon Posatko. He was a 1969 graduate of King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, and 1972 graduate of the Uni- versity of Notre Dame Law School. Attorney Posatko oper- ated a private law practice in Tunkhannock and was the chief public defender of Wyoming and Sullivan counties for more than 28 years. He was a member of the Order of St. Thomas More, Notre Dame Club Inc.; the University Club of Notre Dame; Wilkes-Barre Law and Library Association; Pennsylvania Bar Association; Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers As- sociation; and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal De- fense Lawyers. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marcia. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Dona M. LETTIE CULVER Founding member of Women’s Clubs Lettie Lee Culver, 93, of West Chester and formerly of Dallas, died November 17, 2003. Born Jan. 18, 1910, in Dallas, she was the daughter of the late Henry Lawrence and Gui- da Brotherhood Lee. She at- tended the Dallas Borough School and graduated from the Wilkes-Barre Institute. She owned and operated the OO- STAN-A-ALA Spring Water Co. She worked for the Dallas/Shavertown Water Co. She was a member of Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Dal- las. She was instrumental in starting the Youth Women’s Club of Dallas and was elected its first president. The club lat- er became the Senior Women’s Club and Junior Women’s Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Freder- ick Culver. Surviving are her son, A. Lee, Dallas; daughter, Karen Culver Roen, West Chester, with whom she resided; four grandchildren; a great-grand- child; and a nephew. Memorial services will be held in December.
