Shaver said the question is
one of convenience.
She said officials want every-
one to haul yard clippings and
paper products to the munici-
pal garage or the Dallas Area
Municipal Authority, where
they will composted or recy-
cled, but Shaver said that
places an unfair burden on resi-
dents, especially the elderly.
“What 'if you don’t own a
truck, or you can’t lift huge
branches to load them in a
truck to take them to the mu-
nicipal building or to DAMA?”
she asked. “Just about anyone
can drag a branch into a burn
pit.”
O'Neill said that while he
can’t speak for the supervisors
he thinks the issue of burning
yard waste is the one area of
the proposed ordinance in
which there might be some
room for negotiation.
“That is the one issue that is
still up in the air,” O'Neill said.
“There is a possibility we
might be able to meet in the
middle on that part of it.”
But O'Neill said no matter
what is decided someone will

Middle school project down
to last 20 items on ‘punch list’
By ERIN YOUNGMAN
Post Staff
DALLAS — Punchlist items
for the middle school renova-
tion project are dwindling fast,
said the company overseeing
the project.
Paul Degillio of Foreman
Burkavage reported to the
school board Monday that
items remaining for completion
on the project have been re-
duced to 20 from 88 two weeks
ago.
“Is the punchlist longer than
it should be?” inquired board
member John Litz.
“They're slowly nipping away
at them,” responded Degillio,
Baby sitters class grad
adding that the items remain-
ing were predominantly “odds
and ends” of electrical and
casework issues.
The middle school rededica-
tion ceremony, open to the pub-
lic, will be held Sunday, August
10. The formal ceremony will
begin at 3. The middle school
jazz band and middle school se-
lect chorus will perform during
the event. Student led tours of
the building will follow.
In other business, the board
set the following dates for Sep-
tember board meetings:
The work session will be
September 8, with the commit-
tee of the whole meeting on
September 15.
