Born at his grandmother’s home in Wyoming, PA, he spent his childhood in Elizabeth and Cranbury, NJ, graduated from Virginia Military Institute, and served in the Army Corps of Engineers during World War IL As a civil engineer, he worked for Raymond Concrete Pile Co. of New York City and subsequently established his own test boring business in Washington, DC. His interests included furniture refinishing, antique collecting, community politics, genealogy, and forest onservation. Survived by his wife, Vivian and four children; Stede, At- lanta, GA; Tamsen, Cranbury, NJ; Bryce, Simpsonville, SC; and Sarah, Kensington, MD and nine grandchildren. Morgan, 92, of Dallas, died Sunday July 20, 2003 at Meadows Nursing Cen- ter, Dallas. Born Feb. 23, 1911, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Catherine (Berry) Schroeder. She graduated from Wilkes- Barre Academy and the Mans- field State Teachers College. She worked as an english teacher for the Wyoming Semi- ary Day School, formerly the ilkes-Barre Day School, and Meyers High School. She was a former member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Wilkes-Barre, where she was active with the Women of St. Stephen’s She attended The New Life Community Church, Orange. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Community Care, Kingston; Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas; or to a charity of the donor’s choice. STELLA GORTO Member of Gate of Heaven Church Stella Gorto, of Parrish Street, Dallas, died Tuesday July 15, 2003 at home. Born in Bayonne, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Lottie (Makilowski) Boruch. She was a graduate of Meyers High School. She was employed at A&P, Burly Bisque, Elizabeth, N.J., Blue Ribbon Bakery, Kingston and the Dallas School District. She was a member of Gate of Heav- en Church, Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Gorto. Surviving are sons, Leonard, Dallas; Andrew Jr, Wilkes- Barre; brother, Carl, Ashley; sister, Nellie Evans, Fontana, Calif; JAMES HEINTZ Prominent Orthopedic Sur- geon and Dallas resident James J. Heintz, M.D., 44, of Dallas, died Tuesday July 15, 2003. Born in Pittsburgh, April 22, 1959, he was a son of Marian (Meinert) Heintz Delisi, of Pittsburgh and the late Francis J. Heintz. Dr. Heintz was edu- cated at and a graduate of Case Western University. He was an accomplished orthopedic sur- geon with practices in Kingston and Tunkhannock.. he had also served as chief of orthopedics at the Wilkes- Barre General Hospital. He was a member of the Medical Society of Pennsylvania, the National Orthopedics Society and the National Medical Soci- ety.
