Property owners need to be aware that they do not own up to the edge of the roadway. Street right-of-ways vary from 33 to 50 feet. Residents that are unsure of the width of their street may call the Township Office for further information. It is very important that the right-of-way remain free of en- croachments for snow removal, utility construction and street maintenance. Residents are also reminded that this area is not their property and that the Township has the authority to order removal or to re- move, the encroachments from the street or road right-of-way. The Township is asking for cooperation from all residents in re- specting the public right-of-way. Residents with questions may call the Township Administrative Office at 696-3809. She taught mu- sic in Mahanoy and Cass Townships and also at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Kingston schools. She was choir director at Kingston Methodist Church. She was a member of the Church of Christ Uniting, Kingston. She was also a member of the Mozart Club, the American Guild of Organists, the Wyoming Valley Women’s Club, and the Retired Teachers of Pennsylvania. TOM POLINSKI SR. U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War Tom B. Polinski Sr., 69, of Shavertown, died Saturday July 5, 2003 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. Born Dec. 5, 1933, in Kingston, he was a son of the late Francis P. and Julia Anne (Murray) Polinski. He attend- ed Pringle schools and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korea War, serving as a ser- geant. He was employed as a sporting goods salesman by Zayre Department store, among others. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy H.; brother, Bernard Pollins; and sister, Agnes Petrikonis. Surviving are sons, Thomas B.
